AS9100

The AS9100 family of standards is an ISO 9001 based standard with additions and interpretations specific to the aerospace industry with emphasis placed on areas deemed to have the greatest impact on safety, reliability and regulatory compliance for aerospace products.

The development of AS9100 was managed by the International Aerospace Quality Group (IAQG) and represents a significant opportunity for standardisation and improvement.

SAE AS9100 is the quality system requirement for suppliers to the aerospace industry issued August 2001.  It was developed in the United States as AS 9000 in 1997, expanded to address international aerospace requirements since, and is now approved by aerospace companies in Asia and Europe.
